Q: "Am I able to stop in and buy a baked good?"
A: Unfortunately not, I am not a storefront bakery. Everything I make is pre ordered, if you are wanting to place an order but are unsure if its too late, shoot us an email at deenaminyard@gmail.com and we will sure to let you know if we’re all booked up or not! which leads to this next question...
Q: "How far in advance do I need to place my order?"
A: The earlier the better! Placing your order at least a month in advance would be ideal. For weddings, try to start planning around the 6 month mark, but again the earlier the better to secure your spot!
Q: "How much are your cakes?"
A: Each cake is very different, the price starts out with how many servings you'll be needing, from there we will have to look at how much detail and time that will be put into making items such as fondant designs, flowers, figures, etc. The base pricing for buttercream cakes start at $4.50 per serving and fondant covered cakes at $5.50 per serving.
Q: How many servings can I expect per cake?
A: We've provided a chart below that shows how many servings are typical for each size tier. Layer sizing is discussed when the cake is ordered.
Q: "Can I pick up my cake?"
A: No. Lost Forest Cakes only delivers. We charge a flat delivery fee of $15 for delivery of all items IN EL PASO COUNTY except wedding cakes. Wedding cake deliveries & set-up fees are quoted per cake per order.
Q: "Do you deliver outside of El Paso county?"
A: Absolutely!! Leave it to us to make sure the cake gets there in one piece! Delivery El Paso County is FREE in El Paso County for orders $75 or more.
As for outside of El Paso county, we only deliver to TELLER, DOUGLAS & ELBERT COUNTIES. The usual fee is $1.00 per mile to the destinations in these three counties.
Q: "Can I pay for my cake in full when it is delivered?"
A: No. Each order will have to have at least a 50% down payment. I accept Facebook Pay and Paypal only. You will receive a receipt via email. ALL ITEMS MUST BE PAID FOR IN FULL TWO DAYS BEFORE DELIVERY.
Q: "Do you make cookies, cake-pops and macarons?
A: Yes! Decorated cookies start at $49 per dozen; macarons start at $28 per dozen; cake-pops start at $20 per dozen. Pricing varies based up intricacy and detailing required to complete item. Some cookies are VERY intricate!
Q: "I've never had fondant what does it taste like?"
A: Fondant is a form of icing that is very smooth and looks flawless on cakes, many designs that go onto cakes are made from fondant. To me, it tastes like a chewier version of a marshmallow. I sometimes flavor my fondant. Some people don't like it while others love it. If you're worried your guests won't like the taste but you love the look, it is very easy to peel off and eat around! Many cakes require it and cannot be made without using it.
Q: "Do you offer wedding cake tastings?"
A: I do offer complementary tastings for weddings that will serve 75+ guests. The couple/family will get to taste up to three cake batter flavors and three fillings of your choice. The sample will be 4inches wide and 2 layers. If wanting to try more than 3 batters or fillings there will a nominal, small fee. These samples will not have your wedding "colors." You can mail color samples to us or provide them when the cake samples are delivered.
Q: "Am I able to get each tier a different flavor?"
A: Yes! There is no additional cost to do more than one standard flavor; this goes for both wedding cakes and all other events! The only additional cost would be if you were to add a specialty batter or filling to any tier! All flavors except Almond, Bridal Bouquet, Brown sugar, Caramel, Cherry, Chocolate, Dark chocolate, Cinnamon, Coconut, French vanilla, Lemon, Maple, Raspberry, Red Velvet, Vanilla & White chocolate
are considered specialty flavors. Flavor lists are beneath Servings Charts. Specialty flavors cost $15 extra per tier for wedding cakes & $5 per layer for all other cakes. All fruit fillings will be $10 per tier.
Q: "How will I know what the total cost of the item I order will be?
A: We will contact you after receiving your email inquiry or call. Together, we will go over each item thoroughly and a quote will be emailed to you. After you receive your quote is the time to make any changes that you would like. A final quote will be sent to you then. If you accept the quote, 50% of the quoted amount will have to be paid via Facebook Pay or Paypal within 24 hours.
Q: How do I identify the item when I place my order?
A: Very easily! Write down the category where the item is listed and then the individual number. Example: Celebration Cakes, #13.
Tier heights available: 6" tall (Two 3" tall layers with frosting) or 8" tall (Four 1.5" layers with frosting)
Standard Flavorings
These are special-order flavorings that enhance cake taste without affecting the batter. $15 per wedding cake tier or $5 per cake layer.
These special order flavorings are either very strong or very subtle. Suitable for small items like macarons, etc. $5 - $10 per small item order.
